How to clear your Dropbox cache in Windows
When you delete sensitive files
from your Dropbox account, you think you’ve deleted them permanently. However,
the files remain in a hidden cache folder on your hard drive for emergency
purposes that is cleared automatically every three days.
If you need the space, you can manually clear the
cache by deleting these files. And that’s what you will find in this article
the location of the cache folders in Windows and Linux.
The Steps :

access the Dropbox cache folder in Windows > Press Windows key + X > Select
“Run”.
Or Press Windows key + R
Type the following “%HOMEPATH%\Dropbox\.dropbox.cache” > click “OK”
Select all the files and folders in
the “dropbox.cache” folder and press Delete.
The files are moved into the “Recycle Bin” so you will need to empty the
“Recycle Bin” to permanently delete them.
Or you can also
press “Shift + Delete” to permanently delete them and immediately,
without the need to empty the “Recycle Bin”.

box when trying to delete files from the “.dropbox.cache” folder telling you
that the “thumbs.db” file can’t be deleted because it’s in use.
So press Skip and now I will show you how to delete
this file and how to prevent it from being created again.

and the disk space you can free up is calculated.
